What Happened
A client's dental chair developed a fault that could not be resolved on the spot. Rather than book a return visit and leave the clinic working around a dead operatory, we delivered a brand new replacement unit and got the room back in service.
Why Replacement, Not a Queue
Selling a chair is the easy part of this business. What separates suppliers is what happens on the day something goes wrong.
A dental chair is not one item on a clinic's asset list. It is the room. When it stops, the appointments booked into that room stop with it, and every day of downtime is revenue that does not come back. A clinic with two operatories loses half its capacity. A clinic with one loses all of it.
That arithmetic is why a replacement can be the correct answer even when a repair is technically possible. The question is not whether the unit can eventually be fixed. The question is what the clinic is losing while it waits.
How We Handle It
Our technicians assess the fault first, because most issues are genuinely fixable on site and a same day repair is the fastest route back to working. Handpiece lines, valves, upholstery, control boards and delivery arms are all serviceable, and we hold parts locally for exactly that reason.
When the assessment says the fault will not clear quickly, the decision moves to replacement. The clinic gets a working chair, and the affected unit comes back to us to be dealt with on our time rather than theirs.
What This Means for a Buyer
Ask a supplier what happens on the bad day. Not the specification, not the price, but the response: who comes out, how fast, what is held in stock locally, and what happens when the answer is not simple.
Equipment from any manufacturer will eventually need attention. The part a clinic is really buying is the response behind it, and that is the part that is hardest to judge from a brochure and easiest to judge from what a supplier has actually done.
