The Announcement
On April 14, 2026 we announced that Denjoy endodontic equipment would be available at DentaSource Direct, with the official launch set for the first week of May 2026. DentaSource Direct is the exclusive Philippine distributor for Denjoy.
The announcement came with four photographs taken at the showroom rather than with catalogue renders, which is the more useful way to introduce equipment. What was pictured is what arrived.
What Denjoy Makes
Denjoy is a manufacturer of endodontic equipment. The range covers the devices a clinician uses inside a root canal: apex locators for measuring working length, endodontic motors for driving rotary files, ultrasonic activators for irrigation, and obturation devices for filling the canal once it is cleaned and shaped.
Until now many Philippine clinics have assembled that chain from several sources, which is workable until something needs a part. Bringing the range in under one distributor means the motor, the locator and the activator come from the same place and are serviced from the same place.
The First Units
The first two photographs show the group together on the showroom counter, against our own signage. Four devices sit in the frame: an apex locator with a colour canal graph on its display, a second apex locator on a touchscreen, a cordless handpiece on a metal stand with a contra-angle head fitted and its settings shown on a small screen, and a pen shaped device resting on its own charging dock.
Seen together they read as one workflow rather than four purchases, which is the point of carrying a full range. The screens are the giveaway: every device in the group reports what it is doing while the clinician is working, instead of afterwards.
Apex Location, Explained
The remaining two photographs are the apex locator on its own, front on and then from the side on its fold out stand.
An apex locator answers one question during root canal treatment: how far down the canal is the tip of the file. It does that electrically. A lip electrode and the file complete a circuit through the tissues, and the device reads the change as the tip approaches the apical constriction, the narrowest point near the end of the root. The display counts the file down toward the apex, with an audible tone alongside the graph.
The reason clinicians care is that working length decides the outcome. A canal filled short leaves tissue behind, a canal instrumented long irritates the tissue past the root end, and a radiograph alone gives a flattened image that can hide either. A locator gives a live reading at the moment the file is in the canal, which is when the decision is actually being made.
What Came Next
The first shipment reached the showroom three days after this announcement, and we opened it on camera. That is covered in the first Denjoy arrivals. Orders opened at the same time.
