The Job Nobody Plans For
Clinic renovations are planned around tiles, cabinets and paint. The old dental unit is usually remembered last, on the day the contractor asks who is taking it out.
On January 21, 2026 our technicians handled exactly that job at a client clinic. We dismantle dental units of any brand, whether the unit is being replaced, moved to another room, or sold on.
Taking It Apart in the Right Order
A dental unit comes apart in the reverse of how it went in. Power off first, then water supply closed and the lines drained, then the light head and light post, then the delivery and assistant arms, then the cushions and backrest, and only then the chair base itself.
Doing it in that order protects the parts that break easily. Light arms are counterbalanced and will swing hard if the head is removed without support. Water and suction lines that are pulled rather than disconnected take the fittings with them. None of this is difficult work, but it is easy to do expensively.
Any Brand, Any Unit
We are the exclusive Philippine distributor for ROSON, but a dismantling job is not a brand question. The units we take out are frequently older equipment from a range of makers, and they come apart on the same principles.
If the old unit is going to be resold or kept as a spare, the parts are wrapped and boxed rather than stacked. If it is being scrapped, it still leaves the room in pieces small enough to go through a normal clinic door without damaging the frame or the floor.
Renovation Timing
The sequence that works is dismantle, renovate, install. Taking the old unit out first gives the contractor a clear floor for tiling and for the water, drain and power roughing in, and it means the new chair is not standing in a room full of dust waiting to be connected.
For clinics replacing a unit with a new one from us, the two visits can be planned together so that the room is empty for the shortest possible time. For clinics renovating without a replacement yet, the dismantling stands alone as a service.
What to Prepare
Before we arrive, three things save time. Clear the path from the street to the operatory, confirm who is switching off the power and water at the source, and decide in advance whether the unit is being stored or disposed of, because that changes how it is packed.
