Announced July 25
On July 25, 2026 we announced that the ROSON intraoral scanner is now available at DentaSource Direct. It replaces the impression tray with a wand that builds a three dimensional model of the arch on screen as the operator moves it.

What An Intraoral Scanner Does
The scanner is a small camera on a handpiece. It captures the surfaces of the teeth and the soft tissue in a continuous pass and assembles them into a digital model in real time, so the operator can watch the arch appear and go back over any area that did not capture cleanly.
The output is a digital file rather than a physical impression. That file goes to the laboratory directly, or into a design workflow if the clinic mills or prints its own work.
Why Clinics Make The Switch
Remakes. With an impression, a void or a drag is often discovered by the technician, after the patient has gone home. On a scan the gap is visible on screen while the patient is still in the chair, and it is rescanned in the same appointment.
Chair time. There is no material to mix, no setting time to wait out and no tray to disinfect and pack.
Patient tolerance. A great many patients dislike impression trays and some cannot manage them at all. Removing the tray removes that whole conversation.
Communication. A three dimensional model on a screen is something the patient can look at and understand, which does more for case acceptance than any description of the same problem.
What To Weigh Before Buying
A scanner is a change of workflow, not just a change of instrument. Three questions decide whether it pays.
Does your laboratory accept digital files, and in what format. Most now do, but confirm it before you buy rather than after.
Who will scan. Scanning is a technique and it takes practice. A clinic where only one person can scan reliably has bought a bottleneck.
What proportion of your cases it covers. The honest answer for many general practices is a large majority but not all of them, so plan for both.
Seeing It
The scanner is on the floor at our showroom, 610 C. Raymundo Avenue, Maybunga, Pasig City, open Monday to Sunday. The demonstration is hands on and free, and the sensible thing is to scan an arch yourself rather than watch someone who scans every day make it look easy.
Configurations, stock and current pricing are on request.
