The Invitation
The Philippine Dental Association San Pablo City Chapter is inviting all dentists to its 2nd Scientific Seminar and General Membership Meeting on Thursday, October 29, 2026. Registration opens at 12:30 PM and the program runs from 1:00 to 6:00 PM at CDC 1028 Café, San Pablo City Highlands, Barangay San Jose, San Pablo City, Laguna. The registration fee is ₱1,200, with payment details behind the QR code on the chapter's poster.
In the chapter's own words, it is an afternoon of learning, professional fellowship, and meaningful connections with fellow dental professionals. The invitation is open, not members-only, so dentists from the neighbouring towns of Laguna and Quezon are welcome to sit in.
The afternoon carries one theme, Bridging the gap between alignment and tissue health, and two lectures: an orthodontist on self-ligating brackets as they behave in a private practice, and a periodontist on crown lengthening. The CPD credit for the day has not been posted yet; we will add it here when the chapter announces it.
The Two Lectures
Dr. Emil Angelo Santos, Passive vs. Active vs. Reality: Real-World Self-Ligation in Private Practice. An orthodontist with an MSD in Orthodontics and the founder of the Orthostrategy Study Group, Dr. Santos teaches the fundamentals of orthodontic practice to general dentists, including the two-day TADs course he gave at the DentaSource Direct Training Center in August 2026. Self-ligating brackets are sold as passive or active; his lecture is about what the mechanics do in a real private-practice case load, and how to plan around it.
Dr. Francesca Daye See-Santos, Beyond the Gingival Margin: The Art of Crown Lengthening. A periodontist, Dr. See-Santos takes the second hour to the soft tissue: when a restoration or an orthodontic finish needs more tooth than the gum allows, how crown lengthening is planned and cut, and how it is kept stable. The two lectures are a pair on purpose, alignment on one side and the tissue that has to hold it on the other, which is what the seminar's theme line says.

What a Scientific Seminar and General Membership Meeting Is
PDA chapters run two kinds of gatherings, and this one is both in a single afternoon.
The Scientific Seminar is the lecture half. A chapter books one or more speakers, applies for credit through the PDA's accreditation as a CPD provider with the Professional Regulation Commission, and the hours you sit through count toward your license renewal. The PDA holds provider accreditation number DNT-2009-001, valid until April 12, 2027, and chapter seminars are filed under it.
The General Membership Meeting is the business half. Officers report on the chapter's year, members vote on what needs a vote, dues are settled, and the next activities are lined up. This is where a chapter decides what it does next, so it is worth staying for even if you came for the lecture.
Who the San Pablo City Chapter Is
The chapter's seal carries the year 1947, which makes it one of the older PDA chapters in Southern Tagalog. It sits in PDA's Region IV grouping alongside the Laguna Chapter, and its members practise in San Pablo City and the towns around the Seven Lakes.

August 29, 2025. Chapter members joined San Pablo City's simultaneous coconut planting, the morning the city set a Guinness World Record for the most people planting coconuts at the same time. The chapter took part under PDA's Ecodentistry program. Read the story.
September 28, 2025. The chapter's previous 2nd Scientific Seminar, K Saya-Saya! Pediatric Dentistry, filled a Sunday at Auravel Grande Hotel and Resort with five lectures and two workshops on children's dentistry, good for 6 CPD points. Read the story.
February 1, 2026. The chapter joined the PDA's opening of the 22nd National Dental Health Month at SM Mall of Asia and carried the month's Aksyon Sa Alagang Pambibig campaign on its page.
March 1, 2026. A twinning seminar and workshop with the Endodontic Society of the Philippines at Hiraya Function Hall: a full day on failing root canals, shaping and filling, and airflow biofilm clearance. Read the story.
March 4, 2026. The chapter's clinics switched off lights and air-conditioning from noon to 1 PM for PDA's 10th Dentist Hour. Read the story.
March 18, 2026. A twinning webinar with the PDA Camarines Norte Chapter on radiographic interpretation and the dental management of patients with HIV, 3 CPD units over Zoom. Read the story.
Further back, in September 2023, the chapter hosted the Philippine College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons' South Luzon Conference at Coco Palace Hotel, a seven-hour program on odontogenic infections, dry socket, oro-antral fistula and socket preservation.
The Venue: CDC 1028 Café
CDC 1028 Café sits inside the San Pablo City Highlands estate in Barangay San Jose, up the road past the San Pablo City Convention Center. It is a hilltop café with a wide view over the city and the lakes, with both an air-conditioned room and an open-air deck. It opens at 9 AM on weekdays and can be reached at (0939) 924 4880.
The Highlands road climbs, so give yourself a few extra minutes from the city proper. The map below is pinned on the café; the button under it opens turn-by-turn directions in Google Maps.
What to Bring
Bring your PRC license number. Chapter seminars keep an attendance sheet that is filed with the PRC's CPD accreditation system, and your units are credited against that number. Dentists renewing in 2026 should note that the PRC accepts a CPD undertaking for renewals until June 30, 2026, but the units are not waived, they are carried into the next cycle, so every accredited hour still counts.
Bring a pen for the membership meeting, and a card or two. The chapter itself says the afternoon is for connections as much as for lectures. Registration is ₱1,200; scan the QR code on the poster above for the form and the payment details, or write to the chapter at [email protected].

A good share of the chairs we install and service are in Laguna and Quezon clinics, and San Pablo is a regular stop for our technicians.
